At the end of July, the Superior General, Sr M. Fanny Terán Tejeda, and the future Managing Director, Elisabeth Ring, officially formalised the establishment of the Franciscan Centre Vierzehnheiligen as a gGmbH.
Why are we establishing a Franciscan Centre?
The Sisters of St Francis of Vierzehnheiligen – like many religious communities – are faced with an important question:
How can our mission remain vibrant in the future?
Many people are seeking guidance, meaning and community. They long for a simple, meaningful and values-based life.
With the Franciscan Centre, we are opening our doors to people who wish to share and help shape our daily life, our times of prayer and the joy of following in the footsteps of St Francis.
Step by step, a place is taking shape at Konradshof where people can experience community and a spiritual home. To this end, we are currently renovating the flats, apartments and communal spaces at Konradshof and developing programmes for the coming year.
We invite people to join us, the Sisters, in realising the Franciscan mission in our time – whether by living here or by getting involved in projects. Everyone brings their own talents, experiences and questions to the table. This creates a community in which everyone gives and receives.
A key aspect of our vision is building connections with people and initiatives in the region. Together with educational centres, associations, committed citizens and other partners, we aim to strengthen voluntary engagement, pool our resources and develop new forms of cooperation.
