The setting, beautiful weather, excellently tended garden lined the events surrounding the summer party. Sr Elisabeth, the head of the convent, and Sr Doris, the head of the ward, welcomed the sisters and brothers from the motherhouse.
A sunflower song was accompanied by Sr Doris on the accordion to set the mood. There were stations where those present could participate in various activities, such as a wheel of fortune with raffle tickets, testing the senses, bowling, searching for gold in the sand, soap bubbles and various ball games.
With great zeal and dedication, Mrs. Barbara Schlottke in particular was committed to the right selection of activities suitable for seniors, which were enjoyed with great pleasure. A group of sisters performed a movement game for car drivers - there was much laughter.
Sr Mirjam had set up our newly hatched chicks with brood hen in a fenced area in the middle of the garden to everyone's delight.
The physical well-being was also well catered for: in addition to refreshing drinks, there was also a stand with tasty fruit pieces that could be dipped in the chocolate fountain, as well as ice cream and, for dinner, freshly grilled sausages with bread rolls and pretzels.
Our special thanks go to the staff of our nursing station, who prepared the party with such love and great dedication, and to all those who helped at the stalls. It was a successful festival for everyone!
